The story of Treehouse

Founded in 2016, Treehouse is creating a new definition of home: one that is built around the intention to know your neighbor and be part of true community.

Prophet Walker, Treehouse CEO and Co-Founder, grew up in Watts, where amidst adversity and homelessness in his neighborhood, community was always the core connector.  His diverse life experiences deeply influenced his belief in the fundamental need for human connection, leading to the idea and evolution of Treehouse.

When introduced to Joe Green, a Santa Monica native and tech entrepreneur, it was clear that despite their individual backgrounds differing, their principles on the matter were the same. Together, the two created Treehouse recognizing the power of community and shared humanity.

Treehouse buildings are the vessels for community, intentionally designed to make way for shared moments of serendipity and togetherness. Every building features a range of private spaces – individual furnished bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms – and shared spaces – café, music studio, art atelier, library, lounge, and more – that empower residents to live, work, create and interact together, and bring all the offerings of an entire community under one roof.

Our inspiring design comes to life from those within. Through programmatic support and resident stewardship, your home becomes a collection of experiences shared amongst neighbors and friends. Each individual has the ability to adopt a feeling of ownership & identity within a larger community. Our community is aligned through a commitment to be kind, candid, curious, responsible, and present with each other.
